Most of the contemporary Gujarat share a common heritage with the roots of their enterprises running into the Textile industry. To the time when Gujarat was considered to be the eastern counterpart of Manchester, the SUZLON group, one of the State's fastest growing and truly multifaceted companies, began its entrepreneurial life in Textiles. They began in the year of 1987 with Yarn Sizing machines.

Gradually the company zoomed into the grey areas where the diagnosis of yarn took place which would give the company greater control over product quality and increase profit margins. So for the enhancement of product range Draw Twisting and Texturising Machines were installed. They focused in various fields like Fibres, Spun Blended Yarn and High Fashion Furnishing Fabrics.

The SUZLON group emerged as a progressive organisation in the field of textiles and its alliance with SAGAR today is termed as one landmark event in the history of SAGAR's success pages. With four manufacturing facilities of draw twisting, sizing, texturising, and manufacturing of furnishing fabrics, the products are quite widely accepted in the market. The spinning project that has been set up in the "Manchester of the East", viz. Ahmedabad, is a state of the art facility to produce both Polyester-Viscose and Cotton blended yarns. This was not it, SUZLON moved a step ahead on the yellow brick road. Looking at the increasing demand for alternate source of energy, the group is manufacturing state of the art wind turbine generators, with several technological collaborations.
